Hypergly - Diabetes Management

Keep It Simple - Aug 08

Welcome to Hypergly - Diabetes Kept Simple

Hi! My name is Steve Marston and welcome to my web site.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my site. This means a lot when you are a newbie to this area. BUT please read on and maybe it will grow into a much bigger and better site. You can support Hypergly by letting your friends know of this site.  Current feedback is showing that you are spending quite a time using this site, that must be a good indication of interest.

I have diabetes and was diagnosed in 2000. The odd thing is that I started out with type 2 but that was changed by my diabetes team after a year to type 1..... Oh well!

I have recently updated this site and changed the look of it. I wanted to give the apeal of Adventure, because it is an Adventure that we are on with diabetes.

Along this adventure I hope I can gain your attention enough to want to come back to this site an stay on the journey. lets face it, it can be a long one but one that I want you to be in charge of.

As you read through this site, I hope with interest, you will find a continual message. That message is ''Keep It Simple''.

Until recently, there were not many websites providing  information with regard to diabetes management. Within the last 5-6 years the quantity of diabetes websites have grown.

I have created this site Hypergly for a reason. There are many websites out there full of information, most good, some just plain wrong and some too over powering with information.  I suppose you could say they are 'Hyper' with their information!

I want you to see this website as your 'Hypermarket' for Glycaemic control, not in the normal fashion of bombarding you with diabetes facts, information and advertising but targeted with tips that you will remember and with you in control. I recently looked into a website from America. This chap had everything in there bar the kitchen sink! Our advertising will be minimal.

As this 'Hypermarket' grows you will see new products and information arriving. As well as information I like to add a little entertainment so this week its Music & Sport - Take a look!

As I've said before I want this site to be different to others, they can be a bit dry!

My aim for this site is that it takes some of the presure off of you, whether you are newly diagnosed or have had diabetes for some time. This site is not about over doing it with  advice but if there was one piece of key advice for people newly diagnosed with diabetes it would be this;- Try not to let your emotions run riot! This will only compound the problem. This generally dissapears after a short time.

As this site grows it will change its format from time to time but essentially it will have the same message ''Keep it Simple''

I hear you say 'What dose he mean keep it simple' well this is something that is personal to me. I like not to complicate the situation. For example if i'm looking at a diabetes product I personally do not like it to tell me what I would like for dinner if all I bought it for was to give me a blood sugar reading. Get my drift!

What this site offers you is a gradual learning process about diabetes and its effects. This site is designed to give you basic facts, but will also suggest a good web site to follow up your own research on a related topic. This month is Effects of Diabetes on Eyesight. (Also see our new section below)

The tips, opinions and advice I give are purely personal, you do not have to take it!

See our new section called 'The Aisle' and Products on the 'News & Links' section!
